PF Alfabeta
A blast from the past, PF Alfabeta is a typeface that hits all the nostalgic sentiments of a long-lost carefree era. Based on a Greek type called New Hellenic – a design campaigned by Victor Scholderer in 1927 on behalf of the Society for the Promotion of Greek Studies. A revival of a round, and almost monoline type which first appeared in 1492 in the edition of Macrobius and circulated in Greece in various versions under the name Attica. PF Alfabeta is a revival based on the letterforms that were featured in primary school Greek alphabet textbooks for several decades. Its first version was complemented with Latin. Later on, Cyrillic was added as well. A type design that is quite honestly PF’s nonchalant ticket to a precious typographic trip down memory lane.
