Studio visit by ECAL University Type Design Master students
In early July, we had the pleasure of welcoming ECAL’s talented team of future type designers to Typeroom aka Parachute Typefoundry’s design hub in downtown Athens.
Accompanied by Matthieu Cortat, head of the Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne’s two-year master’s degree in Type Design, the students of Switzerland’s renowned institution were introduced to the many qualities and values of greek typography and our studio’s vast portfolio and practices accompanied with a brief workshop on letterpress printing.
Panos Vassiliou, Parachute’s head of creative and founder gave an insightful presentation on the Athenian typography in a one-of-a-kind, type-infused tour of our Mediterranean metropolis that gave the students a glimpse of Greek type in use.
A day to remember rooted in the immaculate beauty of typography, the visit was a heartwarming gathering for the love of type.
